Over 36,000 sqm of conference space, an Auditorium Hall ready to host approx. 1,900 people, a spacious and multifunctional foyer which can be used for various activities such as hosting exhibitions. These are only some of the assets of the multifunctional ICE Kraków Congress Centre, situated in an excellent location in the centre of Krakow, and that will place it among the most exclusive congress centers in Europe. Poltrona Frau Contract is proud to be the supplier of all the seating for the auditorium, designed by Krzysztof Ingarden.
The University of Navarra is a private pontifical university based at the southeast of Pamplona, Spain and it was founded in 1952 by St. Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer. At the present time, they have 9 research facilities and now a new museum has been built that, apart from housing an art and photography collection, also incorporates its performing arts activities inside the auditorium. Poltrona Frau Contract has proudly supplied the 692 auditorium seats for this extraordinary project. The seat model chosen for the auditorium, combines a sophisticated design with functionality that appeals to those with high aesthetic standards and it represents another example of the unique craftsmanship and specific knowhow of Poltrona Frau Contract in the development of fixed seating.
A fruitful collaboration that has been lasting for years, the one between the American architect Frank Gehry and the Contract Division of Poltrona Frau, and which reached its peak in the project of the Foundation Louis Vuitton. It’s a creative centre for French and International artists, opened to the public on 27 October 2014 in Paris, in the Bois de Boulogne, and intended to host temporary exhibitions, galleries and permanent collections. Inside, there is also an auditorium with 340 seats provided by Poltrona Frau, where events and multidisciplinary performances will be organized.
The new Innovation Tower of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) will be located at the northeast side of the university campus. The Tower provides some 12,000 square meters of net floor area and is able to accommodate over 1,500 students. The project is signed by Zaha Hadid Architects and the design unashamedly of the tower aims to stimulate a vision of possibilities for the future whilst reflecting the history of the institution. The new Tower will host the School of Design, labs, galleries, a museum and an auditorium. Poltrona Frau design team collaborated directly with Zaha Hadid Architects in the definition of the 300 custom made seats for the auditorium.
The Swiss Tech Convention Center, opened recently, is one of the most modern and best equipped conference centers in the world. Located on the campus of the prestigious Ecòle Polytecnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), it is a world-class tool for the exchange of knowledge and reaffirms the strong position of the school at the heart of Europe’s scientific community. For the Contract division of Poltrona Frau this is an important supply in terms of numbers: 3,000 seats for the amphitheater built with Canadian technology “Gala Systems” which allows to transform the big auditorium into a banquet hall of over 1,800 square meters, in about 15 minutes. This important project is another example that attests the ability of the company to combine the most advanced technology with highly skilled workmanship

On the 12th june 2014 the new passenger terminal of the G. Marconi airport has been inaugurated in Bologna, following a plan to requalify and extend the waiting lounge of the airport
for wich Poltrona Frau furnished 200 seating chairs.
Poltrona Frau and Grimshaw Architects present the exclusive worldwide premiere of the Planetarium Chair specifically designed for the new “Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science” in Miami. The official presentation is part of the Elements installation, an exhibit-event held during Fuori Salone 2014 at the scenic Fonderia Napoleonica Eugenia foundry space in Milan.
Elements is a thematic exhibition that showcases a selection of furniture and design projects by Grimshaw Architects in collaboration with Poltrona Frau and divides into 6 focus projects and brings together some of Grimshaw Architects’finest work. This is showcased through photographs, drawings, prototypes and structural details, in an installation that also includes 3D augmented reality models which can be viewed on a smartphone or tablet using the free Elements app.
